Beijing, Game On

Our train ticket to Beijing has been booked. Paul, Ibbi, and I are heading out next Friday night. We're doing an overnight ride so that we can sleep and then wake up in Beijing ready to go on Saturday.

Unfortunately, we do not have a ticket BACK to Shanghai quite yet ;-) Because of the Expo, train tickets are crazy these days and you can't book a ticket any earlier than 10 days before you want to go. We'll hopefully book tickets back tomorrow. We want to come back on Tuesday of the following week. So we'll be there for a full 3 days. As I mentioned earlier, we're looking to keep this trip as inexpensive as possible, and so far, so good. I booked us a hostel for $4.50 per person per night. I read some good reviews on it, and I'm hoping they weren't all lies! We'll be staying in a room with 8 beds in it. Worst comes to worst, we just leave and go somewhere nicer, but I'm thinking we'll stick it out as I'm sure it will make for a great story or two. Hopefully we'll get to see as much as we can. It should be an awesome time!

I think we have a decent idea of what we want to see, but again, anyone with any recommendations for what to see/do in Beijing, please don't hesitate to leave a comment below!
